Artist’s statement: This mural is about tackling our climate crisis with hope, love and humanity, centering BIPOC communities since they are often the first and most severely impacted. It was shaped by conversations with 5 different climate scientists: Dr. Fiamma Straneo, Dr. Bethanie Edwards, Dr. Lisa White, Dr. Leigh Stearns and Dr. Wendy Smythe. This mural has reshaped the landscape of the largest city in the East Bay. It is impossible to ignore, just like our climate crisis. An urgent issue that needs our attention now more than ever.
