Quick notes about what you will and won’t see here, where the photos come from, etc. (Not an FAQ, because no one really asks me anything.)

What you’ll see: Murals, street art, legal and less-than legal walls, in Oakland.
What you won’t see: Mosaics, electric boxes, tags/throwies, things outside of Oakland. Why not? Because I don’t have time or energy and there are other sites or you can make your own! (I’d be happy to help if you need some guidance on where to start.)
Where do the photos come from? Several places! If you don’t see attribution, I took them. I always give credit to photographers and never steal pictures- that would be wrong. If you’d like to use one of my pictures, please let me know. If you see attribution, people have consented to having their pictures used. Pictures embedded straight from Instagram are hosted on IG, not and are used via their API. They are not mine and I do not claim them as such. 
Can I submit one or many murals? YES! PLEASE! email me at mural @ oaklandmurals . com (take the spaces out)
I painted that picture! (Or I know who did!) Great! There are so many murals out there in the “Unknown artists” category that I can’t find the artists for- please help a girl out! Leave a comment or email
Where do you get those neighborhood names? Gene of Our Oakland has created the go-to map for Oakland neighborhoods. I use this.
Why do you do this? Because I love Oakland and because I love street art and murals and color and I have a nature/nurture compulsion to document and collect things. 

Also, I’m intentionally not giving out my info for two reasons. First, I like to be anonymous on the internet. You can find me @greenkozi on twitter and Instagram if you must. But most importantly, this site isn’t about me! It’s about Oakland and Oakland’s art. Complicated and beautiful.
