this mural is about “the housing crises in Oakland, our vast array of empty buildings and houses, our mayor, our people; the movement, folks living in trucks, folks living in a Trojan Horse. The systems as we’ve known them are crumbling now, we see the rubble falling – watch with awareness and see the new paradigm on the horizon…where we find unification, new technologies, stronger networks and communities…where we find the soil so rich from the fires, and the air, a new environment that new species of flowers can fertilize, everyone has shelter because mass consciousness dawns that it’s not okay to watch fellow spirits struggle on the street…where we coexist in harmony not dependency…where we look to leaders not dictators…where creativity is a high form of thought because it can problem solve…where spirituality is our 6th sense…where we see beauty and feel appreciation all around us. I guess you could call me a contemporary-utopian, I really spend a lot of time meditating and visualizing the things I want to see. If everyone spent a little time everyday alone with their eyes closed, envisioning a better future, I wonder what would happen?”
